iuvo BioScience Expanding Capabilities with Additional Chemistry and Toxicology Offerings

RUSH, NY – March 15, 2016 – iuvo BioScience is pleased to announce that the company has continued its plans to broaden its testing offerings, recently adding additional capabilities in both the analytical chemistry and toxicology areas.

The iuvo toxicology department recently qualified the V79 Cytotoxicity Assay, adding this to the staple of tests that iuvo can perform to assess cytotoxicity.  “The V79 Assay provides a quantitative measure of inhibition due to cytotoxicity, as opposed to the more conventional MEM test which provides a more qualitative result,” said Dr. Mary Richardson, iuvo’s Chief Scientific Officer.  The V79 assay is required in certain circumstances, such as for release testing of certain products in Japan and following an MEM test outcome showing some degree of cytotoxicity.

In addition, iuvo’s analytical chemistry department has added new capabilities to broaden the company’s offerings beyond compendial tests, which are a traditional strength of iuvo, to enable more problem solving and custom research work.  Following the addition of Dr. Chris Houston last fall, an expert in the field of leachable and extractable testing, the company recently added a new GC/MS system to the existing mixture of capabilities including IR, GC, GC headspace, HPLC, LC/GC, and numerous wet chemistry methods.

Ben Burton, iuvo’s CEO, said, “We are excited to continue to broaden our offerings, and to bring additional tools to bear for our clients.  Our goal is to provide a one-stop shop for our customers, including program management, advisory services, regulatory support and custom research and development protocols.”
