IT Systems Administrator - Part Time

SUMMARY

The Part Time IT Systems Administrator will work on site to supplement our outsourced IT service provider. The Part Time IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the information technology needs of the organization. Areas of focus include systems administration, helpdesk, desktop support, telecom support, tablet/cell phone connectivity support, web presence, infrastructure, software applications, and information security and vendor management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide desktop support 
    • Basic laptop and desktop hardware
    • Microsoft Office programs
    • Office 365
  • Provide network Support 
    • Windows Server architecture
    • SQL database applications
    • Network security protocols
    • Wireless mesh networks
  • Provide support for specific applications 
  • Vendor Management

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences, Technology, degree or relevant experience
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Desktop support – extensive experience with:
    • Basic laptop and desktop hardware, running Windows 7 and Windows 10
    • Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Office 365 including hosted email, OneDrive, OneNote
  • Network Support – extensive experience with:
    • Windows Server architecture (Server 2008 through 2019)
    • SQL database applications
    • Network security protocols
    • Wireless mesh networks
  • Ideal candidate would have experience with specification applications and knowledge areas, including:
    • Microsoft Great Plains
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • LIMS and ELN applications
    • VOIP Phone Systems – management and implementation
    • Software validation
    • 21 CFR Part 11 Compliance
    • GAMP

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Both oral and written to employees and vendors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Math skills required with ability to understand and manipulate simple to complex equations.

REASONING ABILITY

Technical problem solving including evaluation of results and issue management.
