Microbiology Technician

Summary

Participate in routine laboratory processes and laboratory testing to support the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Perform routine laboratory duties within standard iuvo BioScience training, follow written procedures and generate documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilites

The responsibilities with respect to performing tests and/or calibrations:

  • Performs standard testing independently
  • Supports equipment qualifications, re-qualifications and associated activities

The responsibilities with respect to the planning of tests and evaluation of results:

  • Follows established test schedule
  • Review data and prepares reports for standard testing
  • Provides investigational support for LIRs, deviations and CAPAs

The responsibilities for reporting opinions and interpretations:

  • Performs data review of standard test related documentation
  • Provides data trending and analysis of standard testing
  • Interpretation of standard test results

The responsibilities with respect to method modification and development and validation of new methods:

  • Supports method development, validation
  • Participates in proficiency testing for standard methods

Qualification Requirements/Training Programs

Education, Expertise, and Experience

Associates degree in scientific field, a minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Language Skills

Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management, co-workers and clients. Read and comprehend work instructions/SOPs and protocols and write clear concise reports.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and manipulate equations involving exponential and logarithmic functions. Must be able to use metric.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to analyze, interpret and draw conclusions from data and exhibit problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
